Never could I dream of this.
Terrible is destiny mine.
Let me tell my tale of woe now
So that you understand thought mine.
Traveled to Port Royal one
Day in search of special treasure.
Complications rose, ensued, and
Overcome were they in short.
Afterwards, a blacksmith asked me,
“Help me rescue whom the pirates
Took!” and I agreed to aid him—
Find the girl that he so treasured.
Bugger! Now the woman paid me
Back unjustly. Saved her did I, William,
Too, but Liza gave me to the
Kraken; now I suffer dead.
Arrgh! Without the sea, I feel so
Lonely. Why Elizabeth? You
Tricked me when heroic I was!
Never will I forgive Liza.

Again, I’m not too fond of dA’s system of categorizing poetry deviations. Alas.
Another poem I wrote for me AP Poetry class. It’s a creation written with structural elements of Blake’s “Song of Innocence: Introduction” (trochaic tetrameter, five stanzas, four lines per stanza).
This is a Pirates of the Caribbean fan-written poem from Captain Jack Sparrow’s perspective. These are his thoughts while he is in Davy Jones’s Locker. He thinks about how he got there, who ultimately landed him there, and how he plans to react should he ever meet his charming murderess again.
Tell me what ye think, me buckos!
As Will Turner once said, "A craftsman is always glad to hear his work is appreciated."
